I present, an approach to calculate the fluid thermodynamic parameters; chemical speciation, pressure and temperature, in a geothermal reservoir from the parameters measured in the geothermal fluid (vapor and liquid) at the well separator. In steady state flow condition, the laws of conservation of mass and total (mechanical and thermal) energy are used with the assumption of no heat loss or gain due to thennal conduction. The frictional pressure drop in the well is also neglected with respect to gravitational and accelerational pressure drops. It is necessuy to measure pressure and temperature independently at the well head and the separator for dealing geochemistry of the system correctly. |
