| Abstract | Three tracer tests of doublet systems (pairs of production and injection wells) have been carried out during 1991 in the Rotorua geothermal field, New Zealand. These tests are part of an investigation in the use of doubletsystemfor the exploitationoftheRotorua geothermal resource. The main objectiveof the testswasto establish whether or not there is a direct connection between theproduction and wells of the doublets. Fluorescein Sodiumand Rhodamine were selected astracermaterialsforthetestssince these materialsareinexpensive, easytouse, andnontoxic. Tracer observed inthe production well of the Kingsgate hotel doublet 20 hours a 30 minutes tracer slug injection. No tracerwas detected inthe othertwo doublet systems. This paper presents the tracer test procedure, the resultsof thetests anda analysis of the results. |
