| Abstract | Results of a test study are presented which describes the feasibility of the chloride flux and temperature method used to assess the input of thermal water along several cross sections of the Waikato River. For a mean volume flow rate of a mean chloride flux of 3 and a mean river temperature of inputs of thermal water can be detected if they cause changes greater than 1%in chloride flux and raise river temperaturesby more than 0.02 degC. |
