Abstract Current installed capacity of Indonesia's geothermal power plants is 144.5 MW, which is less than 1 of its estimated potential of 16,000 MW. To accelerate geothermal development, national and foreign private companies are invited to participate in terms of Joint Operation Contracts with NA. To support this scheme new policy have been issued, the most important of which is the corporate tax reduction from 46 to 34 %. Private industry can undertake the total project, including construction of power plant and generation of the electricity.
