| Abstract | The high temperature geothermal Occurrences in Kenya are all located in the tectonically active Rift Valley associated with regions of Quaternary volcanism and more so calderas. The sizes of the geothermal fields, productivity of wells and reservoir characteristics vary but are mainly controlled by secondary permeability caused by tectonics and geologic setting. The geophysical structure is controlled by NNE and oblique E-W trending faults which also control hydrology and fluid flow patterns although this has not been established conclusively. |
