| Abstract | Continuous seismic monitoring was carried out at Ohaaki (Broadlands)Geothermal Field for over five years, July 1987 to November 1992. During the whole of the monitoring periodonly six earthquakes were located within the boundary of the geothermal field. The commissioning of Ohaaki Power Station had no observable effect on the seismicity of the geothermal field or the immediate surrounding area. No induced seismicity has been the first three years of production, during which time injection pumping pressures have temporarily reached bar. |
