Abstract In the deep coal and ore mines the high temperatures of air
occure making difficult the work in underground excavations.
One of the main factors influencing underground climatic
conditions is primal temperature of rocks surrounding the mine
workings. The unfavourable effects of temperature and
humidity of air on human body are known as the climatic
hazard. The paper presents the influence of primal
temperature of rocks on temperature of air in mine workings.
The criteria of estimation of climatic hazard in deep mines
(based mainly on value of primal temperature of rocks) had
been analysed. The influence of that temperature on climatic
hazard based on underground measurements as well as
theoretical assumption had been investigated.
