Abstract Seismic attenuation, ambient-noise and signal spectral content are investigated in Dixie Valley, Nevada (DV), as indicators of Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) favorability, as opposed to using seismic velocity models alone. We use a unique database of continuous seismic data collected at 42 three-component broadband station locations in the 2011-2012. In this area, a high resolution P and S seismic velocity model was previously estimated, using ambient seismic noise interferometry. Green's Functions (GF) extracted from autocorrelation and crosscorrelation beams are further analyzed to estimate crustal attenuation and stochastic properties. Preliminary results show that anomalies in the horizontal GF reflection component frequency content are observed in the DV geothermal production areas when compared to non-production areas. These results will be statistically compared to previously estimated DV EGS favorability maps.
