Abstract Cable force modeling (CFM) was developed to analyze the PTS tool safety inside the geothermal well under flowing condition. This analysis was conducted to reduce failure during PTS testing especially due to the upward motion force of fluid to the surface. That occurs when the force is greater than the weight of the tool. Therefore the testing tool can be throwing to the surface (blow up). The CFM method was applied to their cases condition: optimum pressure calculation at the wellhead, load additional effect, and the speed of tool inside the well evaluation. Before that, the drag coefficient comparison was conducted using literature study, field data evaluation, and flow simulation.
