In order to know the capacity and fluid properties of a newly drilled geothermal well, it is very critical to carry out a series of flow test measurements. Currently, there are several methods used, but only two of them are used commonly those are Lip Pressure and Separator methods. Lip Pressure technique can be used either vertically or horizontally discharge test, but normally, Separator technique can be used just in horizontal discharge. Both types of test is aimed to clean out bottom hole impurities or drilling mud and secondly to understand potential electric capacity of the tested well. Lip Pressure technique and measurement will result relatively rough production capacity. After long application and development, Lip Pressure method is quite accurate in geothermal well fluid flow measurements. The accuracy has been agreed by statistical analyses of the data. Lip Pressure method uses Russel James formulas to obtain enthalpy and total flow values. The objective of this study is to test the accuracy of Horizontal Lip Pressure method using “Modified Hiriart” against Separator method. This method can be employed for all types of fluid, for steam dominated and for two phase. In addition, the result can be known instantly at field. |
