Abstract It has been argued that models assuming fractal geometry of the fracture network in double porosity reservoirs, are the best manner to represent the randomness in the distribution of fractures. Besides, decline curve analysis is a useful tool to estimate fractal parameters from a reservoir in order to forecast decline production. This paper presents the general bottom-hole constant pressure solution of the fractal diffusivity equation for double porousity media, assuming a variable interporous restriction between matrix and fractures. Approximate analytical solutions for different transient periods are also shown.
