| Abstract | In this paper, we develop a parameterized state-space model for borehole dynamics in terms of borehole length. The closed form formula can be used explicitly in an optimization framework to determine simultaneously the optimal borehole depth and the optimal control law for energy efficient buildings equipped with ground-coupled heat pumps. |
