Abstract The paper presents analysis of rock temperature distribution
in area of Silesia coal-mine. Basing on temperature datas from
bore-holes, the vertical changeability was analysed. Basing
on temperature datas from bore-holes and underground mine
excavations, the horizontal changeability was analysed in four
levels above sea: -250, -500, -750 and -1000 m. The obtained
results shows, that the main factor influencing on the temperature
distribution is parallel (of latitude) Bzie-Czechowice dislocation
in investigated area. Basing on the previous investigation
results, Bzie-Czechowice fault can be treated as a zone
of high value of radiogenic heat generation. The other factors
which have an effect on rise temperature to dislocation direction
are low thermal conductivity of siltstone and claystone
rock-pack and also high thickness of Miocene clay cover stratas.
The investigation results presented in this paper can be
base for calculation of geothermal energy resources in Silesia
coal mine area with tectonic factor regard. The Silesia coalmine
has a possibility of geothermal energy mining .
