| Abstract | Sabalan is composed of three pre- caldera, syn–caldera and post–caldera units with Pliocene to Pleistocene age. The composition of rocks are Andesite, Thrachy andesite, Dacit, Rhyodasite. They are generally massive with thin layers of pyroclastice. The correlation of field studies and samples of exploration drilling show that the source of heat can be Pleistocene micro Diorite intrusives which it has been reported in before reports. We believe in duration of post–caldera activity in Pleistocene, crystallization of magma chamber can be source of heat flow and active alteration at the Sabalan area. |
