Abstract The principle objective of an exploration program is to identify drilling targets that will advance a prospect towards development and full-scale production or relinquish interest in the prospect. Key Engineered Geothermal Systems (EGS) exploration parameters are temperature, lithology, and stress state at an economically feasible target depth (3-5 km or less). Our objective is to test the hypothesis that our proposed exploration methodology will identify potential EGS drilling targets at Dixie Valley, Nevada. Dixie Valley was chosen as the test calibration site because it is a highly characterized geothermal resource with a sufficiently large database in the public domain.
