Geothermal steam/water separators are almost as numerous as wells with Well Test, Wellhead, High Pressure and Low Pressure types. Vertical, Centrifugal Type Separators have been in use for decades but design of internal components markedly affects performance, size, and cost. Their high performance over wide flow rates can be achieved with unexpected low pressure drop, and provide a very rugged and reliable separator adaptable to other tasks such as acid treating for scale control and steam scrubbing. |
