Abstract We evaluate which technology research areas can have the quickest impact on the economics of generating EGS power by determining the sensitivity of cost to important variables such as well production rate, temperature, drilled depth, well cost and plant efficiency. Using a modification of the GETEM economic model, we find that the largest impact in technology improvement comes from increasing the flow per production well. The cases with very deep wells and the lowest temperature showed the largest impact from increasing flow per producer.
