| Abstract | Recent developments in the geothermal industry have special relevance in today’s energy discourse. It has been globally accepted that geothermal is one of the renewable energy resources which needs to be developed further in order to ensure a diverse energy supply in the future. In order to secure the steady growth of the business and prevent the present global financial situation from affecting project development and growth of the industry it is of interest to follow industry trends. Incentives in right places may be advisable and progress monitored in order to prevent relapse, as previously experienced by the industry. However in this article attention is drawn to stranded hydro-geothermal energy. In cooperation with energy demanding industry hydro-geothermal projects rendered not viable due to market constraints could succeed. This could increase the chances of development in many places where economy or not enough demand is preventing the utilization of the available hydro-geothermal resource. It is suggested to utilize the internet actively to bring together geothermal developers and energy demanding industry. |
