| Abstract |
Slimhole drilling operations were successfblly conducted at the Darajat geothermal area, West Java, Indonesia in 1996-1998. The program additional reserves in the Darajat resource and obtained important geological and reservoir infoxmation for modelling and for the planning of fbture drilling work. The use of a slimhole rig allowed these objectives to be achieved more completely, at a lower cost and in a less environmentally disruptive manner than if' a large rotary rig had been used. This paper outlines the work done, the methodology and equipment used and the performance It highlights some of the problems encountered and the steps necessary to overcome or mitigate these in drilling programs of this type. |
