| Abstract | Petrographic studies of cuttings from two exploration deep wells drilled in the western portion of the Los Azufres, Michoacán, Mexico, geothermal field, are presented, including results of X-ray diffractometry and fluid inclusions studies on a few core samples. The interpretation of the data, along with the characteristics of the reservoir, suggest that well EAZ-1 is located outside the geothermal reservoir, and that EAZ-2 is at or near its western boundary, and thus expanding the area of the commercial reservoir by about 8 km2. |
