| Abstract | The use of fluid inclusion gas analysispropene/propene ratios is investigated. Ratios ofthese species are affected by geothermal fluidtemperature and oxidations state. Our purpose is todetermine if analyses of these species in fluidinclusions these species to can be used to interpretfluid type, history, or process. Analyses wereperformed on drill cuttings at 20ft intervals from fourCoso geothermal wells. Two wells are goodproducers, one has cold-water entrants in theproduction zone, and the fourth is a non-producer.The ratios show distinct differences betweenproducing and the nonproducing wells. Propane-dominatefluids are associated with cool waterentrants. |
