| Abstract | Hawaii has had a geothermal program for about 15 years. Most of the geothermal public relations, particularly in the past 5 years, have been reactive rather than proactive, and have related to crises management rather than education. There have been some successes, but these successes over the long term have been overshadowed by failures. The primary purpose of this paper is to suggest some public information do's and do not's based on Hawaii's favorable and unfavorable experiences. |
