Abstract This paper presents a new concept in geothermal energy conversion systems; a double flash plant with an interstage reheater. Intended for use with two phase gathering systems, the new plant can generate over six percent more output than an optimized double flash plant, depending on the reservoir fluid temperature. The excess revenues from the added output provide a very attractive economic payback relative to the extra cost of the reheater.
