| Abstract | A review of the UK Department of Energy's Geothermal Hot Dry Rock (HDR) Program was carried out during 1990 and consisted of: an assessment of the current status of HDR technology, based mainly upon the results of the Camborne School of Mines (CSM) team at Rosemanowes Quarry in Cornwall (UK), a conceptual design study of a prototype deep HDR power station in Cornwall undertaken by RTZ Consultants Limited, a reappraisal of the size of the UK HDR resource and the economics of its use for electricity generation. |
