| Abstract | A conceptual model of Olkaria North East Geothermal Field is presented. A Study of the thermodynamic structure of the field shows that Olkaria fault, which is only evident on the surface on the western side of the field and is inferred to extend eastwards through the field in the South West North East direction, is the up flow zone of the system and divides the system into two regions with distinct thermodynamic properties; a northern over pressured liquid reservoir and southern two phase liquid dominated reservoir overlain by a steam dominated zone. Well test results reveal two high permeability zones one along the fault and another perpendicular to it and extending southwards indicating that fault controlled permeability is important in the field. |
