Abstract This paper presents ANAPRES V 3.0, the third version of a computerized expert system that interprets data of constant and variable flowrate interference tests, which include arbitrary numbers of active and observations wells. From the analysis, the transmissivity, storativity and hydrologic boundaries (existence, type and location) are obtained. The present version has been rewritten in C language and optimized for its use in PC, XT, AT type and i80386 based personal computers. The main advantages of ANAPRES as compared to standard type curve and earlier computerized methods are that it can analyze variable flowrate well tests; it allows analysis of tests including an arbitrary number of observation and production wells; it can obtain 4 to 5 parameters (transmissivity, storativity, type of boundary, distance and angle to boundary) in one computer run; and it is considerably faster than a human expert. The capability of ANAPRES V 3.0 to run in personal computers makes it available to a much wider audience (previous versions were targeted to VAX platforms), and facilitates its use even in field environments.
