Abstract The silica concentration in the brine of the Geothermal Field at Cerro Prieto, Baja California, Mexico, are too high. The flocculation of the silica, that are built in the waster superficial system and in the conduction lines of the separation water which in turn go to the instant evaporation plant lagoon can be used for the elaboration of a construction material, so called geoblock. This paper shows the general process of elaboration and the results held on geoblocks which demonstrates the feasibility to use this important natural resources to develop a new industry.
