Abstract California Energy Company, Inc., CECI, operates nine 30 megawatt geothermal power plants located at Coso Hot Springs in Inyo County, California on the China Lake Naval Weapons Center property. The Navy I Unit 1 plant was commissioned on July 15, 1987. After on year of operation, an online surface condenser cleaning system was installed to ensure that maximum power output would continue. This paper presents the reasoning and economics of this system and the decision to install similar systems on the remaining plants.
