| Abstract | Five productive and three non productive wells have been drilled and tested to evaluate the geothermal reservoir in the Aluto Langano geothermal field. Several well test data were collected and interpreted. The results from these tested indicated the existence of a high temperature (>330°C) two-phase, liquid dominated, fractured reservoir. Stabilized temperature profiles in two well (LA 3 & LA 6) drilled along the main fault zone, indicated no temperature reversal while those of wells drilled outside the fault zone showed temperature reversal at greater depths. The permeability thickness product (kh) value is within the range of 0.5 to 1.5 D.m. which is quite low. This is further confirmed by the low productivity of the wells. |
