| Abstract |
The aim of this paper is to discuss possible management criteria of the Larderello geothermal field. Firstly the concept of the optimum delivery pressure is presented, then the effects on both the reservoir an the electrical production , caused by a hypothetical increase or decrease of the delivery pressure, are discussed. The paper shows how the enhancement of steam production in consequence of a decrease in pressure at wellhead is, contrary to what may be thought, the less appropriate choice for the future field exploitation. Finally, the underlying concepts and the main objectives of the Larderello Renewal Project (Progetto di Rinnovamneto di Larderello) are illustrated. |
