Abstract The high investment cost typical of geothermal energy necessitate careful verification of the resource before embarking on a development project. Moreover, they require the adoption of all strategies aimed at limited investment costs and times as much as possible in order to contain they tie up of capital in the construction activities. For this purpose, a series of choices has been made regarding the constructional standardization of plants and the adoption of organizational criteria that allow cost reduction and better management of the various phases of a development project. A computer program has also been developed which makes it possible to examine the bearing the various parameters relating to the reservoir characteristics have on the cost of the kWh and to optimize resource utilization for the various activities of a development project.
