| Abstract | Over the last several years, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has studied the accuracy of steam flowmeters used for determining federal royalty at the Geysers geothermal field. Accuracy calculation methods described by R.W. Miller were used as the basis for this study. The entire metering system including primary device, secondary device, and flow calculation methods are considered when determining accuracy. Potential sources of error are identified and classified into three categories. Examples of the main causes of inaccuracy and possible methods to improve accuracy are given. |
