Abstract Geothermal developments with significant air emissions are required to maintain compliance monitoring of pollutants such as hydrogen sulfide and meteorological conditions. This is the case at the Geysers and elsewhere and will continue in the future so that Ambient Air Quality Standards (AAQS) are maintained. Compliance monitoring data have not been available to the developers in real time for managing necessary venting operations. Vented emission rates are allowed only below a level which would not incur an exceed of AAQS under poor air dispersion meteorological conditions even though these conditions may only occur infrequently. A competitive grant award to Goddard and Goddard Engineering - Environmental Studies by the California Energy Comccion Geothermal Grant Program, is being used to developer and install at the Geysers an Operational Management of Air Resources (OMAR) system for use by developers, operators and local air districts. The OMAR system is also being installed at the Coso KGRA>
