| Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to characterize various direct use applications in Japan by the use of a diagram combining the inlet temperature with the flow rate of individual direct use facilities. The diagrams are also prepared with some direct use applications in U.S.A. to compare with those in Japan. Moreover, the total installed thermal power and the total thermal energy used in Japan are estimated at 171 and 107 MWt, respectively, resulting in the total average load factor of 63%. The rate of oil saved by geothermal direct uses in Japan is also evaluated at 0.06%. |
