| Abstract | The Zunil I Geothermal Project has been ongoing for nearly fifteen years through the efforts of the Instituto Nacional de Electrificacion (INDE). During eth exploration phase of the project, INDE was supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and ELE-Electroconsult, Milano, Italy. In the later stages of exploration phase six wells, labeled ZCQ 1 to 6, were drilled and tested to evaluate the geothermal resource. In 1987 a contract was signed by INDE and Cordon y Merida Ings, together with M-K Ferguson and M-K Engineers, CyM-MHF, to developed a 15 MW power plant. |
