| Abstract |
Cebroruco Volcano, located southerly of Mexican sate of Nayarit and being part of Mexican Volcanic Belt, is a high potential geothermal zone, whose last eruption happened in 1870. Besides geological, geochemical and geophysical studies, a superficial sampling of radon al(emanometry) was performed in order to determine the most fracturing and, thereafter, the most interesting areas. 81 nuclear tracks plastic detectors were placed n the southeastern flank of volcano during 40 days, and then were obtained their values in trackers per square centimeter and per hour (t/cm2h) being amount of t/cm2h directly propositional to amounts of radon. A configuration with tests data at each sampling point allows to determine five radon anomalies, closely related with probable hidden fractures of n17°E trend; two of those anomalies are recommendable for locate future exploratory drill holes. |
