| Abstract | Downhole fluid samplers have been used for years with limited success in high temperature geothermal wells. This paper discusses the development and operating principals of a high temperature downhole fluid sampler, reliable at obtaining unflashed samples at temperatures o up to 350°C. The sampler was used successfully for recovering a brine sample from a depth of 10,2000 ft in the Salton See Scientific Drilling Project well. |
