| Abstract | In the area of Hachimantai, near Kazuno City, there lie extensive zones of geothermal activities. This enables us to expected the existence of promising geothermal resources in this region that forms a part of the Nasu volcanic belt. In 1974, the Onuma Geothermal Power Plant, third facility of this type in Japan, was constructed in this region. Presently, the power plant is under operation with a capacity of 10,000 kW. |
