| Abstract | When exploitation of the Ahuachapan, El Salvador, reservoir started in 1975, a total of 4.0 megatonnes of mass had been extracted. By the end of 1984, the total mass extracted was 167.4 megatonnes and the reinjected mass was 37.6 megatonnes. A pressure drop from 34 kg/cm2 in 1975 to 21.6 kg/cm2 in 1984 has been experienced. The production area is 0.71 km2. This paper describes the exploitation under which this field has evolved and the effects of reinjection of the field behavior; it also presents a view of the reservoir modeling needs. Conclusion about the need for management program are drawn through the paper. |
