| Abstract | A post graduate Geothermal Diploma Course of nine months duration has been run annually at the University of Auckland since 1979. The course offers overview and specialized papers to professionals from developing countries and New Zealand covering all earth science and engineering disciplines involved in exploration and utilization of geothermal resources; it leads after written examinations to the award of a Diploma degree. At the end of 1984 a total of 159 fellows had attended the course. Our experience with the course and the student group is discussed using statistical materials, and ideas in relation to future developments of geothermal training are presented. |
