| Abstract | The Department of Technical Cooperation for Development (DTCD) is the United Nations agency with the mandate of executing inter alia geothermal projects in developing countries. This paper describes the role played by DTCD during 20 years of uninterrupted activities in the field of geothermal resources, with particular emphasis on some of the most important projects currently executed under "multi bilateral" international cooperation arrangements. DTCD will continue to make every effort in the years to come to promote geothermal activities in developing countries and reiterates the need for further financial contributions from interested donor countries and international organizations to the ultimate benefit for developing countries. |
