A simple approximate solution for the pressure response in a bounded naturally fractured reservoir of fluid is obtained, using a double porosity model and taking the permeability of the fracture to be very high. The blocks are allowed to be of varying sizes. Assuming the block sizes are exponentially distributed, this solution is successfully fitted to data from tests conducted at Ngawha geothermal field in New Zealand during October 1982, May 1983 and October 1983, yielding estimates of fluid in place in fractures and in blocks, and of a parameter involving the permeability in the blocks and the average block size. |
