| Abstract | Well logging operation in geothermal environments require instrumentation which exceeds standard specifications. Furthermore, proper check out procedures coupled with specialized interpretation techniques are prerequisite for reliable resource evaluation. To address these requirement, Dresser Atlas provides three groups of high temperature logging instruments for open and cased wellbores. These include: a) Hostile Environments (H.E.; 350°F to 400°F; 20,000 psi); b) Ultra Hostile Environments (U.H.E.; 400 °F to 500 °F; 25,000 psi); c) Geothermal (G.E. ; 500 °F and above. Field experiences are presented, supported by a review of instrument specifications, operational procedures and interpretive developments. |
