| Abstract | Knowledge of steam properties in injection wells helps to evaluate the performance of the input flow into the reservoir. Profiling wells will aid in predicting as well as establishing a more accurate reservoir model which can evaluate the performance and efficiency of the injected steam downhole. The basic information required for prediction of steam quality and flow rate in the injection well and the sensor used for measuring this data are discussed in this paper. Methods of calibration and operation of each sensor are described. Graphs generated for the Continuous Spinner Flow meter in the Multiphase Flow Research Center will be presented. A log example of a steam injection well and method of analysis of each sensor is also discussed. |
