| Abstract | The streaming potential behavior of dry and wet steam was investigated using a pyrex capillary tube apparatus. The flow of dry steam across the capillary resulted in no measureable streaming potential. For the flow of wet steam, it was discovered that an electrical potential along the capillary tube was generated. This potential built up to values greater than 100v. It appeared that the potential build up resulting from wet steam flow was due to small water slugs passing through the capillary. The average potential build up for a given time interval was found to increase with pressure drop. |
