| Abstract | In September and October 1982, a magnetotelluric (MT) survey was carried out on the Hatchobaru Power Station property of Kyushu Electric Power Company in north central Kyushu, Japan. The survey consisted f 22 MT sites, positioned to coincide with previously measured Schlumberger resistivity sites. After the survey, the MT data and DC resistivity data were simultaneously interpreted by joint ridge regression inversion. Resistivity section derived from the joint inversion were compared with drilling logs of production wells and present as a geoelectrial model for the hydrothermal system at Hatchobaru. It is concluded that the southeast area show promising potential for an extension of the present geothermal reservoir. |
