Abstract Six wells have been drilled by California Energy Company, Inc. at Coso Geothermal Area at the China Lake Naval Weapons Center. Short term productivity tests have been conducted on all five of the production wells. Long term tests of wells 75-7, 75b-7, 71-7 and 81a-7 have been completed. Productivities for the three wells tested so far indicated the potential for production of at least 9.6 MWe from the five wells. Variable water production rates, and a possible short circuit between the steam cap in the reservoir and deeper hot water zones were observed during long term testing of well 75-7. This paper covers testing of 75-7, 75a-7 and 76b-7. A two month test of 75a-7 is now being conducted and data should be available by the time this paper is presented.
