| Abstract | In the summer of 1982 an exploratory drilling and testing program was undertaken at Pilgrim Springs (40 miles north of Nome), Alaska to develop the geothermal resource for possible application for binary cycle electricity generation and for space heating. Four additional wells were drilled, the deepest 1000 ft, and all six wells were tested. Despite probing to the 1000 ft depth, the resource in the drilled area is only a perched hot water reservoir, form the 50 ft depth to about 120 ft depth, overlaying a cold water reservoir. |
