| Abstract | The strike dip of fractures in drillcores form some wells drilled in the Kirishima geothermal field, southern Kyushu, has been determined after measuring the thermo-remnant magnetism of the cores with an static magnetometer. The results show that the most hydrothermal veins strike NE-SW that is oblique to the major tectonic structure of the field. Moreover, an analysis of slickenside's has revealed that the stress fields are of normal to normal lateral type and similar to those estimated form the mechanism of shallow microearthquakes. |
