| Abstract | The paper is intended to establish the corrosion behavior of four different types of steel used in Ansaldo geothermal power plants (Larderello District, Tuscany, Italy) when submitted to mechanical chemical attack due either to different fluid dynamic conditions and/or to the impact of suspended solids. The results presented suggest that the behavior of the metallic materials tested depends on their intrinsic corrosion resistance features as well on physical and mechanical properties of the surface protective oxide layers. |
